ROGER COURTNEY'S OPEN MIKE MUSIC CLUB is a unique club that is held in Portsmouth, Hampshire every Thursday Night. The Club was founded by the late Roger Courtney several years ago and is now run in his memory by his son Nick Courtney. This Open Mike Club basically provides a venue for musicians and singers of all talents and ages to get together and have a chance to perform in front of a live audience and alongside fellow musicians.

One of the best features of this music club is the immense variety of performers who regularly attend and perform together on stage. From the young and up-to-date, to the old-timers; and from those with an unbelievable musical gift, to those who just get up for a laugh! Everybody across the board is welcome, and if your not a musician of any sorts well just come along for a great, unpredictable nights entertainment!

The evenings are totally unrehearsed and unplanned. Basically all performers just turn up with their instruments and get at least one chance to perform on stage. Whether you prefer to perform solo or jam along with other musicians there that evening, the stage is yours and the audience are always warm, friendly and receptive. Two evenings are never the same but the atmosphere is always rocking!

A good quality sound system, microphones etc. are all set up and provided ready for you to just get up and perform. If you do not play an instrument but would like to sing simply bring along your favorite backing tracks on CD and we will do the rest.
